Terms of Service

1. About DutyRelay
DutyRelay ("DutyRelay", "we", "us") is a backup responsibility handoff tool. It helps you prepare plans in advance and, when you activate a plan, notifies the trusted contacts you have chosen so they can take on specific tasks on your behalf.
2. Not an emergency service
DutyRelay is not an emergency service. It is not a substitute for calling emergency services (such as 112, 911, or your local equivalent), medical professionals, law enforcement, or any other safety-critical response provider.
You must not rely on DutyRelay as your only method of communication or response in medical, emergency, safety-critical, or life-threatening situations. Notifications may be delayed, undelivered, or unread, and your contacts may be unavailable.
3. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for choosing your trusted contacts and for keeping your plans, tasks, and contact details accurate and up to date.
- You are responsible for obtaining any consent required from your contacts before adding them and before sending them notifications.
- You must use DutyRelay only for lawful, personal, non-abusive purposes.
4. No guarantee of response
DutyRelay makes reasonable efforts to deliver notifications through the channels you configure, but we do not guarantee that any contact will receive, read, accept, or complete a task. Message delivery depends on third-party networks and devices we do not control.
5. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use DutyRelay.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use DutyRelay to harass, threaten, or defraud anyone; upload unlawful content; send unsolicited commercial messages; attempt to bypass security or rate limits; reverse-engineer the service; or use the service in a way that could impair its operation for others.
7. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, misuse the service, or if we are required to do so by law. You may close your account at any time by contacting support.
8. Beta service
DutyRelay is currently offered as a private beta. Features may change, be limited, or be discontinued. The service is provided "as is" during beta without any service level commitments.
9. Payments and subscriptions
DutyRelay is free during private beta. If paid plans are introduced, pricing, billing cycles, taxes, and refund terms will be disclosed at the point of purchase and will form part of these terms.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DutyRelay and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — including any missed, delayed, or undelivered notification, or any action or inaction by a trusted contact.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use of DutyRelay after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
